Thanks, Karin. It's very nice to be appreciated. I certainly hope the book doesn't disappoint. Yes, I too remember reading sci-fi in the 70s and finding it full of great ideas that really did make you think. And I agree that an awful lot of sci-fi these days has a strong horror element (if that's what you meant by it being too creepy). At least I can be confident you won't find any of that in TimeSplash :-)

when I saw your comments on your book, which I seldom look for, I felt you deserved at the very least a thank you.

I do believe I will enjoy your book, the plot sounds well thought out. Thank you for the chance to try one of your books so I can come back for more!

Karin

PS I am very particular about the Science Fiction I now read, since so much of it far to creepy, and thoughtless and I can still remember lines from some I read which made me THINK, when in high school in the 70's. I am certain I will be pleased with yours. Looks like you are about to gain quite a large number of new readers in the US. Best wishes, and congradulations!

A laborious process I'd imagine. However, to still enjoy what you've written after so many rereads must be such a huge relief. A testament to your writing ability, good sir.

Well done, Graham :)

I suppose, once you get to a certain level of skill - so that what you write is precisely what you intended to write and not just some clumsy approximation - you're bound to like it. Anything else just wouldn't make sense :-)

As for typos, this time through, I didn't find a single one. So that's all it takes, folks; months of professional editing and fifteen read-throughs. I did find dozens of formatting errors though - introduced in the process of turning it from PDF to text and back to PDF (it's a long and very tedious story.)

I'm glad you said you enjoyed it, because I've just finished my first read through of the sequel to "20 Years Later" and felt so icky about saying to my husband "You know, I really enjoyed it."

I was worried I was being narcissistic and that having had many years of hating everything I write, that I was losing my perspective. Then I realised that I could still see a tonne of stuff to edit and improve, I just really enjoyed the ride - and that's the most important thing for me on the first read through.

However, getting to the umpteenth time on a book in production does get pretty weird. I've just experienced close to that on the proof and the thing that freaked me out was the number of typos. So many people had gone through that manuscript and they still lurked there. Gah!

You're right, Wendy. People have been incredibly generous in reviewing TimeSplash. Finding a publisher and getting into print was such a focus of mine for so long that I never really considered what came after. Now I realise, with a shock, what a nightmare it could have been if people hadn't liked my book. Getting good reviews is like walking away unscathed from a train wreck. Sometimes I'm just dazed with relief and gratitude.
